Miriam Levy is an artist working with dance, performance and poetry, based between London and Oslo.

They work exploring the relationship between personal or political, underpinned by a shifting queer perspective. Their current work looks at ideas of care, community and rage.

They were commissioned to create a piece entitled Clips with Third Row Dance Company, looking at DIY hairdressing and community support. Other recent projects include creating a movement installation entitled Invisible Ink, exploring the search for a queer history you relate to. This was presented at Bermondsey Project Space and is part of an ongoing research collaboration with writer Rebecca Riddleston.

In 2022 their piece I Can't Work Under These Conditions was performed at Resolution Festival, at The Place theatre. They have also created the dance film Misshapen Pearl in collaboration with the Baroque viol consort Fretwork. This looks at the Baroque sensibility through a queer lens and has been screened at Dartington Music Festival and Bermondsey Project Space.

As well as creating dance work, Miriam has recently been developing a practice of writing poetry. One of their poems was published in t'ART Magazine's issue Secret Thoughts in late 2023.

They have worked with choreographers such Alice+Synne, Ruby Portus and Good Chance Theatre and Sunniva Moen Rørvik. They also performed with Livia Rita and Avantgardeners Collective at the Brunel Museum. They have a particular interest in site-specific work and work performed outside of traditional theatre spaces.

Miriam graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in July 2021. Whilst in training they performed and choreographed a solo entitled trudge, which was shown at the Southbank Centre as part of the Trinity Laban Gold Medal Award.
